Subject: Request for Bids - 2017 Paving Bids
The Town of Palermo is requesting bids from contractors for the Town’s 2017 paving program of approximately 2,770 tons. Bids are due back in the Palermo Town Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017. Bids will be opened at 6pm.
*Full specs and requirements listed online, or in the Office(993-2296)
All overlay sections on paved roads are to be tacked, and shimmed where necessary and therefore included in the bid pricing.
Bids are to include costs per ton of mix and shimming. Incidental and to be included in ton pricing are all necessary sweeping, traffic control, cutting of joints at intersections, paved driveways, and butt joints, as well as other normal measures associated with municipal paving projects.
Paving is to be coordinated with the Road Commissioner, subject to changes at his discretion based upon road conditions, and completed no later than October 15, 2017. The Town of Palermo reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

The Draft FY18 RSU#12 School Budget is now available.
March 30th,6:30pm, RSU12 Budget Committee Presentation, at the Palermo Town Office, during the Selectmen Meeting.

May 18th, 6:30pm, RSU12 District Budget Meeting, Chelsea Elementary School.

June 13th, 8am-8pm, RSU 12 Budget Vote and State of Maine referendum vote(1 question currently) absentee ballot applications are currently available online(state) or by phone or email for local.(993-2296 or Ballots will available 30 days before the election.

Town of Palermo - Treasurer

The Town of Palermo is seeking applicants for the position of Treasurer.  This is a part time position paid on an hourly basis.  The Treasurer is responsible for the day to day handling and oversight of all monies collected by the Town, management of investments, preparation and maintenance of financial records.  The Treasurer will perform other town office functions including support and collaboration with Town Clerk and Tax Collector.
Previous experience is desired but not required.

The Annual Town Meeting will be held Saturday March 11th, 9am, at Palermo School. * There will be an informational session immediately following Town Meeting regarding Recreational Marijuana.*

 The Municipal Election will be held Friday March 10th, 2-7pm, at the Town Office.

The Town of Palermo is now accepting bids for the following tax acquired property(s):

  1. 431 Martin Woods Rd; Map R4, Lot 39-A; 2 Acres

  2. 235 Nelson Ln; Map R7, Lot 9D; 2.75 Acres

  3. 589 Cain Hill Rd; Map R6, Lot 13-2; 11.4 Acres


    *All bids must be received by February 16, 2017. Bids will be opened at the Selectmen Meeting on February 16 at 6pm at the Town Office, located at 45 North Palermo Rd.


    *All bids must include any fees or additional taxes for registering with the Registry of Deeds. Contact the Town Office to find out the amount of taxes due (993-2296). If the property is occupied, it is the responsibility of the bid winner to evict residents.
