Tax Acquired Property

The Town of Palermo is accepting sealed bids for the following tax acquired properties:


  1. 2686 N Palermo Rd;  Map R 8, Lot 26-A;     1 Acres

  2. 500 Heartbreak Hill;   Map R 3, Lot 35-A;    15 Acres

  3. 1530 Peavey Town Rd;  Map R 12, Lot 28-A;  72 Acres


  Each bid must be received in writing and in a sealed envelope marked "Tax-Acquired Property Bid" on the outside.

All bids must be received in the municipal clerk’s office no later than 6:00 pm on May 23, 2019. Late bids will not be opened or considered.

The bid must include the bidder’s name, mailing address and phone number. The successful bidder has until noon on May 24, 2019 to provide the Town a deposit equal to 10% of the bid in the form of a certified check or money order, payable to the Town of Palermo.

The successful bidder’s deposit will be credited to the total purchase price for that parcel.

Bids will be opened and reviewed by the Selectmen at the Town Office on May 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The Board of Selectmen reserve the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall have 14 days from the date of the bid acceptance in which to complete the purchase. The property will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed without covenants. In the event that a successful bidder fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void and the bidder’s deposit shall be forfeited to the municipality. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any or all unsuccessful bidders.

The tax map and other public information concerning the property may be reviewed at the Town Office during its normal business hours.

Note that the municipality makes no warranties or representations of any kind whatsoever concerning the nature, extent, validity, value or utility of any rights to be conveyed. Bidders are strongly advised to consult an attorney prior to filing a bid.
