Town Office re-opening and new hours

On Tuesday, June 9th, the Palermo Town Office will reopen to the public after a period of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to minimize the risk to our customers and employees from potential COVID-19 exposure, you will notice the following changes from how you are used to doing business at the Town Office. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we adjust to the new way of doing business.

1.     The number of customers inside the Town Office will be limited two at a time. Exceptions will be made in the following cases; individuals requiring chaperones/guardians to complete transactions, 2 party transactions such as marriage licenses, and parents without childcare.  

2.     The main entrance door will be locked at all times, a Town Office Employee will come outside to get the next person in line.

3.     Customers are asked to keep a 6-foot minimum separation from any other customers or employees inside and outside the Town Office at all times.

4.     Customers are advised that staff expects a heavy volume of transactions such as motor vehicle registrations.  Extended wait times are expected, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

5.     As outlined in executive orders issued by Governor Mills, cloth face coverings/masks are recommended indoors at all times, unless the individual is specifically exempted as listed in the executive order (medically unable to wear a mask, under 2 years of age, etc.).

6.     Hand sanitizer is provided at all service areas, customers are asked to sanitize their hands wherever possible before conducting business.

7.     The Public Bathroom will be closed to customers.

Effective June 9th the Town Office hours are changing to the following:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays- 7:30am to 12:30pm

Thursdays- 10:00am to 7:00pm

Closed Monday, Saturday and Sundays
