Hunting & Fishing

You can get fishing, and most trapping licenses through the IFW web portal, or at the Town Office. Beginning early October 2022 you can ONLY purchase doe permits online HERE.

Maine offers a Lifetime License to both residents and non-residents, available for under 16 and over 65. These licenses are not available in the Town Office and must be applied for directly from IFW. Find more information about Lifetime Licenses here.

However, we can issue Lifetime Licenses for those 70 and older for a fee of $8.00

Fishing

Residents: $25 (Season) / 1 day: $12

Non Residents: $64 (Season)

15 day: $47 / 7 day: $43 / 3 day: $24 / 1 day: $11

You must be 16 or older to use a fishing license.

You will need proof of identification and your previous Hunting License or Hunter Safety course number to receive a new license.

Palermo is home to a State Fisheries Rearing Facility that opened in 1947. The annual production is about 100,000 catchable fish, mostly brook & brown trout.
